Lujiazui

Pudong's skyscraper-cluster — mainland China's financial showcase.

Lujiazui, on the east bank of the Huangpu River in Pudong, was farmland in 1990. By 2020 it housed the Shanghai Stock Exchange, the Shanghai Futures Exchange, the People's Bank of China's Shanghai head office, and the headquarters of the largest Chinese banks (ICBC, Bank of China, China Construction Bank, Agricultural Bank of China). The skyline — Shanghai Tower, Jin Mao, Shanghai World Financial Center — is one of the most recognisable in the world.
