Origin
The West India Docks closed in 1980. The Margaret Thatcher government's London Docklands Development Corporation cleared the land; Olympia & York's Paul Reichmann opened One Canada Square in 1991 as the centrepiece. Big-bank tenants only arrived in volume after Lehman, Citi and Morgan Stanley moved in during the late 1990s.
