MBA Summer Intern (Generalist)
Spend a summer at a venture-backed fintech founding team — own a real workstream from week one.
About Arithmos
Arithmos is building the retail layer for direct indexing. We turn a plain-English idea into a transparent, rule-based portfolio with institutional-grade backtesting and analytics. Our goal is to make structured investing accessible to millions.
The role
We hire a small number of MBA summer interns to own a real workstream end-to-end — not a side-project, not a deck. Past interns have shipped pricing experiments, ghost-written investor updates, and built the first version of features that are still in production. You leave with a portfolio of work, not a slide deck.
What you’ll do
Own a real workstream
- Pick from: pricing & paywall, partnerships pipeline, brand & content, ops/finance build-out, or competitor & category research
- Set the OKR yourself in week 1, present results at the offsite
- Hand off documentation that survives your departure
Sit in on every commercial conversation
- Customer and creator calls (Tier S YouTubers, Substack writers, RIAs)
- Investor updates and the next financing round prep
- Pricing, packaging, and Stripe analytics reviews
Be the connective tissue
- Weekly written update to the founding team — what shipped, what stalled, what's next
- Synthesise messy inputs (Slack threads, transcripts, Notion docs) into one-page decisions
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a top-tier MBA programme (1st-year or 2nd-year)
- Pre-MBA experience in consulting, banking, PE/VC, or operating role at a high-growth startup
- Strong written communication — you'll write more than you'll speak
- Comfort with ambiguity and a 6-person company that ships daily
- Willingness to do work below and above your pay grade in the same week
Nice to have
- SQL or basic Python — enough to pull your own numbers from PostHog/Postgres
- Personal interest in investing, indexing, or fintech
- Public writing, podcast, or community presence
- Pre-MBA exposure to fintech, asset management, or brokerage
Why this role is exceptional
- Real ownership — you'll have a Slack channel for your workstream and a budget to deploy
- A return offer is a real possibility, not a formality — past interns have converted
- Direct exposure to fundraising, pricing, and partnerships at the seed-to-Series-A stage
- Founders who treat MBA interns as full team members, not summer entertainment
Compensation & benefits
- Top-tier equipment (M-series MacBook)
- Founder-level mentorship — weekly 1:1 with Ricky
- Coverage of UK travel + accommodation for hybrid weeks
- Lunches in-office
- Inclusion in the company offsite if dates align
How to apply
Upload your CV and a short note — no more than 200 words — on why this role in particular. If you have work you’re proud of that’s relevant (a product you shipped, a research paper, a backtest you ran), link to it. Two-stage process: screening call, then a take-home + technical deep-dive with the team you’d join.
